Olympic Mountains Trail Races, August 15 - 16, 2026
The Olympic Mountains Trail Races take place in the Olympic National Forest near Quilcene, Washington. The weekend features multiple trail distances with varied terrain, significant climbing and staffed aid stations.

The 100K is a single continuous course with about 14,200 feet of elevation gain, roughly 80% single-track trail and ten aid stations, including two light aid stations. The course reaches a high point near Dirty Face Ridge at about 5,820 feet and follows sections alongside Gold Creek, the Dungeness River and Royal Creek. Drop bags, crew access and pacer pick up locations are provided for the 100K.
The 50K is a single loop beginning near race headquarters at about 2,600 feet elevation, with about 8,600 feet of climbing and about 74% single-track. A 50K ruck division is offered and all 50K entrants have a 14 hour finish cutoff.
The 25K is a single loop with nearly 4,000 feet of elevation change, including a 2,250 foot climb to Mount Zion over 3.7 miles. A 25K ruck division requires a 20 to 30 pound pack excluding food and water; finish cutoffs differ for racers and ruck entrants.
The 10K measures about 6.56 miles, mixes single-track and forest road, has one aid station and about 1,117 feet of climbing.
Aid station, drop bag and crewing plans vary by distance. Registration opens January 23, 2026 and closes August 11, 2026 at 11:59 PM Pacific. Entry fees follow tiered pricing with earlier and later registration windows. The event has a no refund policy with a structured credit schedule for withdrawals and an exception for active duty military deployment.
Race headquarters are in a retired quarry deep in the Olympic National Forest near Quilcene. Access involves forest roads and limited cell signal beyond Route 101. Camping details and volunteer opportunities are noted for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
