About the race
The Old Highway 5K Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, along Old Highway in Tavernier. The event is a timed 5K run or walk on a flat course with lots of shade.
The race starts and finishes at Coral Shores High School, which is the benefiting partner; 50% of the proceeds will go to the school. Race shirts and participant medals are available to the first 200 registrants.
Awards will be presented to the Overall Top Three finishers male and female, Overall Masters male and female, and the Top Three male and female in multiple age divisions. Age groups include under 6, 7–9, 10–13, 14–15, 16–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, and 80 and over.
After the race there will be snacks, refreshments, and music for participants and their guests. Entry is non-refundable, non-deferable, and non-transferable. Race management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event or to alter the course and distances for safety; no refunds will be issued for cancellations due to events outside management's control. Pets, skateboards, and rollerblades are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
