18th Annual KEYS100 Ultramarathon
The KEYS100 Ultramarathon takes place across the islands of the Florida Keys, ending in the City of Key West at Higgs Beach. The course is primarily a pavement race, with approximately 75% of the route on paved bike paths or sidewalks and 25% on the road shoulder. Participants run along the Overseas Highway through a chain of unique islands surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.
Available events include:
- 100 Mile Individual Ultra
- 50 Mile Individual Ultra
- 50 Kilometer Individual Ultra
- 100 Mile Team Relay
- 50 Mile Team Relay
Every individual runner is required to have a support crew in a dedicated vehicle. Support vehicles are restricted to standard sizes, such as cars, SUVs, or minivans. For safety, participants must wear reflective vests during the day and added blinking LED lights at night. Pacers are permitted for different distances after specified points: after 10 miles for the 100-mile race, after Seven Mile Bridge for the 50-mile race, and at mile marker 23.7 for the 50-kilometer race.
Timing mats and sensors are located throughout the course to monitor progress. The event has a total time limit of 32 hours for the 100-mile distance, 20 hours for the 50-mile distance, and 12 hours for the 50-kilometer distance. Specific interim cutoffs are also enforced at the 50-mile, 40-mile, and 25-mile timing stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
