Islamorada Running Weekend
The Islamorada Half Marathon and 10k, Rumrunner Run 5K/10K, and Beach N' Beer Mile is an annual multi-day sports event held in Islamorada, Florida. This event represents the largest organized running weekend in the upper Florida Keys and takes place along the Overseas Hwy. The weekend features a variety of distances and social activities spread across two days.
Participants can choose from several different race distances and categories:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10k (6.2 Miles)
- 5k
- Beach N' Beer Mile (1 Mile)
The event schedule begins on Saturday with the Rum Runner 5k and 10k races, followed by the Beach N' Beer Mile. The latter is a non-timed event where participants consume four beers while completing a one-mile course. This specific category is open only to participants over the age of 21. On Sunday, the schedule focuses on the Half Marathon and a second 10k race option.
Registered participants receive various amenities depending on their specific race and registration date. Standard inclusions for the longer Sunday races include an event t-shirt or hoodie, a hat, a finisher medal, and beverages from the Florida Keys Brewing Company. Saturday Rum Runner participants receive a hat, a finisher medal, and a Rumrunner beverage.
