Old Ephraim 200
The Old Ephraim 200 is a point-to-point mountain ultramarathon based in Logan, Utah, routed through the Bear River Mountain Range. The official route is 215 miles with about 40,000 feet of total climbing. The course contains less than 1.5 miles of pavement; the remainder is remote single-track trail and ATV or Forest Service roads.
Terrain and scenery include dense stands of pines and aspens, open meadows, and long stretches of forested trail. The route passes near areas associated with the local legend Old Ephraim, and one aid station is located at his graveside monument. The event is named after the legendary grizzly bear and references the region’s history and mountain character.
The race requires prior experience: entrants must have finished at least one mountain 100+ mile race; a qualifying finish in 2026 is acceptable if completed before race day. Organizers will verify results on Ultrasignup and will review individual cases if a qualifying finish does not appear there.
The standard entry fee is $1,599 before processing fees. Organizers list event equipment and logistics purchases such as tents, flags, an arch, camp stoves, and satellite internet for aid stations, and they note options for payment plans may be available.
