Course and Format
The Old Ephraim 200 is a point-to-point 200-mile ultramarathon through the Bear River Mountain Range in Northern Utah. The official route is 215 miles with approximately 40,000 feet of climbing. The course uses remote single-track trail and ATV/Forest Service roads, with less than 1.5 miles of pavement. The terrain features dense pines and aspens, open meadows, and long stretches of quiet forested trails.
History and Theme
The race is named after Old Ephraim, a legendary giant grizzly bear once known to roam Logan Canyon. The route passes near areas associated with the bear and includes an aid station at the graveside monument dedicated to him.
Participant Requirements
Entry requires participants to have successfully finished at least one mountain 100+ mile race. This qualification must be completed before race day in 2026. The organizers will verify finishes through Ultrasignup results.
