Old Dominion 100 Mile Endurance Run
The Old Dominion 100 Mile Endurance Run is a measured loop event in Fort Valley, Virginia, that traverses the Massanutten Mountains and the Shenandoah River Valley. The course covers a total distance of 100 miles with approximately 14,000 feet of elevation gain and includes 14 significant climbs.
Terrain varies widely along the route. Runners encounter pavement, gravel roads, single-track trails, ATV trails, logging roads, rocks, streams, additional gravel sections, and mud. The course is planned as a fair test of endurance across mixed surfaces rather than as solely a trail or road race.
The event schedule includes a 24 hour cutoff to earn the silver buckle and a 28 hour limit to complete the course. Support infrastructure listed for the race includes 23 aid stations, crew access points and an array of volunteers. The event is organized by volunteers and operates without sponsors.
The race is held on the first weekend in June; the next scheduled occurrence is June 6, 2026, and the venue is listed as Shenandoah County Fairgrounds / Fort Valley, Virginia. The Old Dominion is also identified as one race in the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
