Ohio Mennonite Central Committee Run 4 Relief 1k & 5k Race
The Ohio Mennonite Central Committee Run 4 Relief takes place in Mt. Hope, Ohio, located within Holmes County. The event is held on the west side of the Mt. Hope Event Center on Township Road 362. This sports event serves as a benefit to assist families in increasing their income through the purchase of livestock.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 1 km Fun Run or Walk
- 5 km Run or Walk
The 1 km Fun Run is intended for younger participants or those preferring a shorter distance. This specific event is not timed, and no competitive awards are presented for finishing order. However, participants in the 1 km receive a t-shirt and potentially a piggy bank.
The 5 km event is a timed race where every participant receives a t-shirt. Awards are presented to the top six overall runners, and additional age-group awards are provided. Registration for both events is available on the day of the race starting one hour before the first start time at the designated tent.
The organizers provide water and Gatorade at the event site, though participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to support recycling efforts. All proceeds from the registration fees are directed to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
