Oh Boy 5K
The Oh Boy 5K is a community 5-kilometer loop event held in Waterbury, Connecticut, with the start and finish located at 300 Grand Street. The course is described as mostly flat with some slight rolling hills and is certified (CT25012JHP). Chip timing is used and official results will be posted by the race timing provider.
An aid station is located at the start and finish offering water and lemonade. Snacks include a variety of chips, crackers, candies, trail mixes and bananas. A drop bag area is available adjacent to the aid station. Portable toilets are provided near the start/finish and at the Hamilton Park Road turnaround; an additional bathroom is located behind City Hall. Parking is available in the garage at 61 Field Street.
Entry fees are listed in two tiers for adults and students with a range of $30 to $35 for adults and $10 to $15 for students. Registration opens on November 3, 2025 and closes on April 29, 2026. T shirts are guaranteed only for runners registered by April 24, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled for May 24, 2026 at 61 Field Street and on race day at the start/finish area on Grand Street.
First through third place trophies are awarded in male and female categories for ages 19 and under and 19 and older. All finishers receive a custom designed dog tag. Proceeds benefit child abuse prevention through the Exchange Club of Waterbury. Volunteers are requested and appreciated. Course rules note that the route is open to the public and may include walkers, joggers and strollers; participants should use caution at crossings and avoid littering.
