Event Information

The Oh Boy 5K is a 5K run and walk in Waterbury, Connecticut. It takes place on Monday, May 25, 2026. The course is a loop that starts and finishes at 300 Grand Street, described as mostly flat with some slight rolling hills. The course is certified.

Registration & Fees

Entry fees vary. For adults, the fee is $30 through April 30, 2026, and $35 from May 1 through race day. For students, the fee is $10 through April 30, and $15 from May 1 through race day. Registration by April 24, 2026, guarantees a t-shirt in the requested size; t-shirts are not guaranteed after this date.

Event Details

Proceeds from the event benefit child abuse prevention through the Exchange Club of Waterbury. The event is held in honor of the late Eugene L. DeFronzo. Custom designed dog tags are given to all finishers, with trophies for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers in the categories of 19 & Under and 19 & Up.

Timing is chip-based, and results will be available online. There is a bag drop area adjacent to the aid station at the start/finish. The course is open to the public, and participants are asked to yield to faster runners, use caution at street crossings, and avoid littering.

Facilities & Logistics

An aid station at the start/finish provides water, lemonade, a variety of snacks, and fruits. Toilets are available near the start/finish area and at the turnaround point. Parking is available at a garage on 61 Field Street. Packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race day at the start area.
