Hamden Hills Half Marathon & Flat 5K
The event offers two distances:
- Half Marathon
- Flat 5K
The races take place on the Railroad Canal Line in Hamden, Connecticut, with the Half Marathon running through backcountry sections and using the Rail-Trail for the first and last two miles. The 5K is entirely on the rail-trail. The Half Marathon course is USATF measured. Roads remain open to traffic with police and volunteers at intersections.
Amenities for entrants include short sleeve tech shirts, custom finisher medals for all Half Marathon finishers, Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance at the finish, fresh bagels and bananas, live results via online/text/email, and free finish-line photos and video. Aid stations are located at miles 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5 and 10.5 and are stocked with water and Gatorade Endurance. Portable toilets are provided at the start/finish and at miles 4.5 and 8.5.
Awards are custom pint pilsner glass trophies for top three men and women overall, plus top three in age groups from 10-14 up through 80+. Bib pickup requires knowing your bib number; a self-lookup area is available on site.
Parking is available in Rail Trail lots and on-street where legal. Do not park in the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors lot; vehicles there may be towed. Registration is not yet open; a notification option is available for when registration opens. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
