Hamden Hills Half Marathon & Flat 5K Shoreline Sharks 2027
The event includes two distances:
- Half Marathon
- Flat 5K
The venue is the Railroad Canal Line main parking lot at 270 Sherman Ave., Hamden, CT. The half marathon route runs through the backcountry of Hamden and uses the rail-trail for the first two miles and the last two miles. The 5K is entirely on the rail-trail and is a flat course with no vehicle traffic on that section. Roads on other parts of the half marathon course remain open to traffic; police provide intersection control and volunteers are positioned along the route.
Aid stations are located at miles 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5 and 10.5 and are stocked with Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance. Portable toilets are available at the start and finish and at miles 4.5 and 8.5. The half marathon course is USATF measured.
Amenities for entrants include men's and women's cut short sleeve tech shirts, custom finisher medals for half marathon finishers, Poland Spring water, Gatorade Endurance, bagels and bananas at the finish, live results by text and email, and free finish line photos. Awards are custom pint pilsner glasses for top three overall men and women and top three in standard age groups. Bib pickup requires knowledge of a participant bib number; a self lookup area is available. Registration is not yet open. Plenty of parking is available in Rail Trail lots and on street; do not park in the Dunkin Donuts / Amity Liquors lot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
