Event overview
The Hamden Hills event includes a half marathon and a flat 5K on the Rail Trail at Railroad Canal Line Parking Lot, 4340 Farmington Heritage Canal Trail, Hamden, CT 06518. The half marathon course uses the rail-trail for the first 2 miles and the last 2 miles; roads on the route remain open to traffic with police and volunteers at intersections. The 5K is entirely on the rail-trail with no vehicle traffic on course.

Facilities, services and rules
Aid stations are located at miles 2.5, 4.5, 6.5, 8.5 and 10.5 and are stocked with Poland Spring Water and Gatorade Endurance. Porta-lets are available at the start/finish area and at miles 4.5 and 8.5. All entrants receive men's or women's cut short sleeve tech shirts. Half marathon finishers may choose between two finisher medal designs. Finish-line refreshments include water, Gatorade Endurance, bagels and bananas. Free downloadable race photos and finisher certificates are provided by EliteFeats.
Transponder timing records gun and net times; awards are based on gun time. Custom awards are given to the top three men and women overall and in five-year age divisions from 15 to 80+. The half marathon has a 3:30 time cutoff. Transfers or deferrals are allowed for a fee until 2026-04-23. No refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
