5K Walk/Jog/Run for a member of the school community
This is a charity 5K walk/jog/run taking place on May 23, 2026 on the Nonnewaug campus in Woodbury, Connecticut, at 5 Minortown Rd, 06798. A local chapter of the Math Honor Society is organizing the event to raise funds to assist with medical costs for a member of the school community who was recently diagnosed with leukemia.
The main event distance is 5K. There is an optional, untimed 1 mile race for children held in an enclosed track area. The event will feature music, raffles, inflatables such as a bounce house and an obstacle course, face painting, Cornhole boards, 2x4 Jenga, disc golf, and informal areas for throwing footballs and frisbees. Additional offerings include information about Project GradNite and a bake sale. A booth will be available where attendees can write notes of support.
Registration opens on March 5, 2026 and closes on May 23, 2026; the published registration fee is $30. The race will be hand timed by students and results will be posted afterwards. Members of the wider community are welcome to attend whether or not they participate in the main race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
