Mine Hill Half Marathon
The Mine Hill Half Marathon is a road half marathon that starts and finishes at Mine Hill Distillery in Roxbury, Connecticut. The course passes through rural terrain with country views past farms, fields, and vistas, and it shares parts of the route with a gravel bike event held the same day.
The route uses a mix of paved and soft dirt roads. After an initial section on Route 67 and Sentry Hill Road, runners move onto Judds Bridge Road and cross Judds Bridge. The course includes Walker Brook Road beside a creek, a sustained climb on Shinar Mountain Road and Lower Church Hill Road, and a steep half mile ascent on West Church Hill Road that reaches the highest point near halfway. The second half of the course is largely downhill, returning along familiar roads and finishing beside the distillery.
Organizers provide three aid stations offering water and electrolyte drink. The event operates a cupless policy, so participants must carry their own hydration bottle, pack, or cup. Packet pickup and race day registration are available. Entry fees range from USD 60 to USD 80 depending on registration timing. There are no refunds or transfers of entries.
Finisher awards include a specially designed medal and a finisher award for every participant. Additional awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Food and beverage options are offered at the post race celebration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
