Winter Running Series
The Winter Running Series is a four-part training circuit produced by the GOAL Foundation. Serving as the official training series for the Ogden Marathon, the event is designed to help participants maintain motivation during the winter months and prepare for springtime running distances. The series follows a progressive structure with four main race dates.
Participants can choose from various distances at each event:
- 5 km and a short course of approximately 2 miles
- 10 km and a short course of 4 miles
- 10 miles and a short course of 4.5 miles
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon) and a short course of 10 miles
The events take place at different locations around Ogden and Eden, including Airport Road, the Dee Events Center, Roosters B Street, and Eden Park. The series is USATF sanctioned and includes professional timing, aid stations, and finish line refreshments.
Participants who register for the full series receive a long-sleeve tech shirt and have the opportunity to earn a unique medal at each race, which combined form a five-part series medal set. Standalone "a la carte" race registrations are also available, though these do not include the participant shirt. To reduce waste, the series utilizes a reusable bib system where runners keep and use the same bib for all four events. Awards are presented to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers in overall and masters categories based on a cumulative points system across the four long-course events.
For safety and logistical reasons, pets are not permitted at the race venues, packet pickups, or on the courses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
