Event Overview
The Winter Running Series, produced by the GOAL Foundation, is a four-part training series designed to prepare runners for the Ogden Marathon or other spring running events. It serves as the official training series for the Ogden Marathon.
Race Distances
The series consists of four in-person events:
- 5K (3.1 miles) on February 14, 2026, with a start/end at 4300 S Airport Rd.
- 10K (6.2 miles) on February 28, 2026, with a start/end at the Dee Events Center.
- 10 Mile on March 14, 2026, with a start/end at Roosters B Street.
- 13.1 Mile (Half Marathon) on April 4, 2026, with a start/end at Eden Park.
Each event also offers a shorter "short course" option. The series is sanctioned by USATF.
Registration and Pricing
Registration for the full series has a tiered pricing schedule: $170 through November 2, $175 through January 11, and a final price of $180. Processing fees are extra. Participants can save $10 with a bundle registration for both the Ogden Marathon and the Winter Running Series. Standalone, or "à la carte," registration for individual events is also available, though the participant shirt is not included unless purchased separately for $15.
Participant Perks
Registration for the full series includes a participant shirt (a unisex long sleeve tee), a finisher's medal for each event, and a fifth medal for completing all four races. Each event provides professional timing, aid stations, and finish line treats. Registered participants receive access to a private Facebook group for live Q&A sessions and clinics.
Training Support
The series is supported by race-specific training plans designed by Fleet Feet, which are available for separate registration. Downloadable training plans for the full and half marathon distances are also provided.
Logistics
A single bib is reused for all four events, and participants must bring it to each race; a $10 replacement fee applies for lost bibs. Packet pickup for the series is on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Fleet Feet Ogden. Packet pickup for standalone events is available at the GOAL Tent on race morning. Pets are not allowed at any series event, packet pickup, or on the course.
Awards
Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary participants in the overall and masters categories (ages 40+) for the full series. Results are determined by a cumulative point-based score from placement in all four long-course, in-person events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
