Buffalo Run Trail Race
The Buffalo Run is a spring trail running event held on Antelope Island near Syracuse, Utah. The course passes desert grasslands with views of the Great Salt Lake and sections of rolling singletrack where herds of wild bison may be present. The event is presented as a multi-distance trail race festival.
Distances offered include:
- 25K trail race
- 50K trail race
- 50M trail race
The race began in 2006 with about 150 runners in the 25K and 50K and has since expanded to include the 50M distance. Registration for these editions opens on 2026-10-26 and closes on 2026-12-17. Listed registration fees are $115 for the 25K, $150 for the 50K, and $210 for the 50M.
Organizers note that park participant and special-use permit fees have increased; those permit fee increases are a factor in the higher registration fees. The park permit revenue is described as supporting wildlife research, animal care, and the construction of a new visitor center.
