Course, logistics and rules
Courses start and finish at the marina area and use the Mountain View, Lakeside, White Rock Bay, Elephant Head, Split Rock Loop, Bridger Bay, and ranch sections of the island. Marking uses pink ribbons, flour arrows, directional signs, and reflective grade stakes. Aid stations provide standard ultra food and beverages; some aid stations on longer distances may offer hot items. The 25K does not allow drop bags; 50K drop bag locations include White Rock and Elephant Head plus the start/finish; 50/100 mile drop bag locations include Lower Frary, Ranch, White Rock Bay, Elephant Head, and start/finish.
Pacers are allowed for the 50 and 100 mile races but not for the 25K and 50K. Crew must use designated aid-station locations; some aid stations have specific parking rules and Bridger Bay does not permit crew access. Camping is organized near the marina and there are island campgrounds and nearby off-island lodging options. The course passes through bison habitat; runners are required to avoid littering, yield to horses, and follow aid-station check-in and other race rules. Finishers receive handmade mugs; prize and age-group awards are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
