Antelope Island Buffalo Run
The Antelope Island Buffalo Run is a spring trail-running event held on Antelope Island with views of the Great Salt Lake. The course uses rolling singletrack through desert grasslands and passes areas where wild bison may be present. The event attracts trail runners from across the Mountain West and beyond.
The race began in 2006 with 150 runners in the 25K and 50K. It now offers multiple distances and elevation profiles:
- 50 Miles : ~3,428 feet of gain.
- 50K / 31 Miles : ~3,038 feet of gain.
- 25K / 16.48 Miles : ~1,687 feet of gain.
Pentalon Construction sponsors a course-record prize purse. Prize amounts are offered for breaking the course record in each distance: $500 for the 50 Mile division, $500 for the 50K division, and $250 for the 25K division. Race fees are published with early and later pricing tiers for each distance; the fee does not include Runsignup processing fees or taxes.
The event provides separate, detailed course information for each distance and maintains a runners guide and race-day fueling guidance. The 2027 edition is scheduled for Saturday, March 13, 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
