Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial 5K
The Officer Daniel Ellis Memorial event is scheduled for November 7, 2026 at White Hall State Historic Site in Richmond, Kentucky. The program includes an in-person 5K run/walk, a virtual 5K option for remote participants, and volunteer opportunities to support event operations.
The in-person 5K is chip timed and offers overall awards for the top three male and top three female finishers, plus age group awards. The organizer provides commemorative race shirts, free race photos, text message result notifications, and a DJ. The course uses closed, paved trails at the historic site. Runners, walkers, and strollers are welcome; dogs are not permitted because of field size and trail width.
Registration details in the event listing show opening dates and fees for each option and differing registration closing dates for the in-person and virtual entries. The event also lists packet pick up at an offsite location before race day and calls for volunteers to assist on race day and during packet distribution. Sponsorship and donation support are noted as part of the event planning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
