Course, rules and services
The main OCR course is listed as 4.3 miles with 23+ obstacles and a 140-foot finisher rig. Course terrain includes mud holes, fields with cow patties, light swamps, muddy streams, and rolling pine forest. The 50-yard ninja run uses two side-by-side lanes and names the top 10 for head-to-head placements; 100% obstacle completion is required for final placements. The 5-mile trail run/walk is described as mostly wooded and will include two water stops.
Elite athletes must show 100% obstacle completion to be eligible for Florida Championship Series points; athletes may retry obstacles before giving up their wristband. Low rig rules require that feet cannot touch the ground; trusses may be used during transitions. Open waves have no penalties for failed obstacles.
Packet pickup will provide a bib and ankle timing strap that must be worn and returned at the finish. There are three water stations at heavy-carry obstacles, a hose shower area, race swag at the finish, an on-site food vendor, and beer and wine available for participants 21 and over. Parking is cash only. Volunteer shifts are four-hour blocks; volunteers may race at a reduced fee or provide a donation option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
