The 2026 Escape the Swamp Triathlon takes place on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in Gainesville, Florida. The venue address is 250 Gale Lemerand Drive, Gainesville, FL 32611. The event includes two race options: a Sprint Triathlon and a Super Sprint Triathlon. The swim portion takes place in the O’Connell Center Pool and the bike and run courses go through the University of Florida campus.
Race format and distances
- Super Sprint: 250-meter swim, 3.4-mile bike, 1.1-mile run
- Sprint: 350-meter swim, 10.2-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
The swim distances are described as laps in the O’Connell Center Pool (two and a half laps for Super Sprint; three and a half laps for Sprint).
Registration, fees and awards
Entry fees listed are $55 for the Super Sprint and $75 for the Sprint; prices increase after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm EST. Each person registered before March 1, 2026 will receive an event race shirt. All finishers will receive a finisher medal. Age group awards follow five-year age bands from 9 and under through 75+. The event policy states entries are considered donations to the University of Florida TriGators Triathlon Race; refunds and transfers are not allowed except if the race cannot occur, in which case a refund or deferral will be offered.
