Event Overview
The Escape the Swamp Triathlon takes place in Gainesville, Florida, on the University of Florida campus. The event includes two race distances: a Super Sprint and a Sprint triathlon.
Race Distances
Participants can choose from the following formats:
- Super Sprint: A 250-meter pool swim, a 3.4-mile bike ride, and a 1.1-mile run.
- Sprint: A 350-meter pool swim, a 10.2-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
Course Details
The swim segment takes place in the O'Connell Center Pool. The bike course goes through the University of Florida campus, and the run course goes around the campus center.
Participant Perks
All finishers receive a unique finisher medal. Participants who register before March 1, 2026, will receive an event race shirt. Age group awards are given in 5-year increments, starting from 9 and under up to 75+.
Supporting the Organizers
The event is organized by the UF TriGators Triathlon Club. Entry fees provide funding for the club, which is described as one of the top collegiate triathlon teams in Florida. The policy states no refunds or transfers, with entry fees considered a donation. If the event cannot occur, athletes will receive a refund or deferral to a future club race.
