Triple-Sport Challenge at the University of Florida
The Escape the Swamp Triathlon takes place on the scenic campus of the University of Florida in Gainesville. This multisport event is organized by the UF TriGators Triathlon Club and utilizes the university's athletic facilities. All entry fees serve as a donation to support the club's participation in collegiate competitions across the United States.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- Super Sprint Triathlon: A 250-meter pool swim, a 3.4-mile bike ride, and a 1.1-mile run.
- Sprint Triathlon: A 350-meter pool swim, a 10.2-mile bike ride, and a 3.1-mile run.
The swimming portion occurs in the O'Connell Center Pool. The cycling segment leads athletes through the university grounds, while the run course circles through the campus center. All participants who register before March 1, 2026, are provided with an event race shirt, and all finishers receive a medal. Age group awards are presented in five-year increments, ranging from age 9 and under to 75 and older. The event also features a dedicated meetup zone for alumni.
