About the race
The Ocean Road 10k is the 13th annual point to point race presented by Newport Hospital in Narragansett, Rhode Island, held on October 4, 2026. The course is 6.2 miles and starts at Point Judith Lighthouse, follows Ocean Road along the coast, passes under the Narragansett Towers, and finishes at Town Beach.
Registration is managed in advance; online registration closes the week before the event. Packet pick-up is offered the day before at the Narragansett Parks and Rec Building and on race morning at Narragansett Town Beach. Registered participants receive a race bib with timing chip and an athlete shirt; onsite registration is not available. All participants must show a photo ID at pick-up. Someone may pick up bibs for another participant with a copy or photo of that participant’s ID. Note that shirts picked up on race morning may not be distributed until after the race.
The event is point to point and there is no parking at the starting line. Parking is available at the finish area in the north and south Town Beach lots on a first come first serve basis, with additional street parking nearby. Assigned shuttles transport athletes from the finish area to the start; athletes may board an earlier shuttle but not a later one. Shuttles are for athletes only.
Gear lockers are available through a mobile locker vendor; the locker truck will be at the race start and then move to the finish for post race collection. Discarded layers left at the start will be collected and donated.
A finisher medal is awarded to all participants. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers and to top finishers in five year age groups from Under 19 through 70 plus. Post race food includes grab and go fruit, granola bars, and water. The event has supported the Narragansett Historical Society since 2013 and has raised over $55,000 for the organization.
