Newport Winter 10k - December 6, 2026
The Newport Winter 10k is presented as the second annual winter road race held in Newport, Rhode Island. The course starts and finishes at Brenton Point State Park and follows Ocean Drive clockwise, offering expansive ocean views and rugged coastline scenery.
Terrain is mostly flat along the coast with a few rolling hills between miles 3 and 5. Two aid stations are located at approximately miles 1.9 and 3.8. Race day parking is available at Brenton Point State Park with access via the park's northwest entrance.
Participants in the 10 km receive race-branded items and services including a long sleeve shirt, a finisher’s medal, a race winter beanie, a race bib, and timed results. Top three male and female overall finishers receive awards; the event does not offer age group awards.
The event directs a portion of race proceeds to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. A food drive runs alongside the race; nonperishable donations are collected at registration and on race morning for the Center’s food pantry. The Center plans to distribute over 1,400,000 meals this year.
Practical policies include a refund window up to 30 days before the event, allowed deferrals up to 30 days before the event, and no registration transfers or bib swapping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
