Newport Winter 10k - December 6, 2026
The Newport Winter 10k is presented as the second annual 10 km road race on December 6, 2026. The course starts and finishes at Brenton Point State Park and runs clockwise around Ocean Drive, providing coastal views along Newport’s shoreline.
The route is mostly flat along the coast with a few rolling hills between miles 3 and 5. Two aid stations are located at miles 1.9 and 3.8. Race day parking and drop off are available at Brenton Point State Park.
Entrants receive race amenities including a finisher’s medal, a race branded winter beanie, a long sleeve shirt, a race bib, and timed results. Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers; there are no age group awards in the first year.
The event has a charitable component. A portion of race proceeds will support the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. The race also organizes a food drive for nonperishable donations to support the Center, which distributes over 1,400,000 meals annually.
Registration for the 2026 race opens on May 11. The event lists tiered entry fees for different registration periods, with changes in price as the race approaches. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
