Ocean Gate 5K and 1 Mile Run
The Ocean Gate 5K is an annual running event held in Ocean Gate, New Jersey, featuring a Christmas in July theme. The race takes place on a flat and fast certified course through the local streets. Participants can choose from several distances:
- 5K running race
- 1 Mile running race
- 1 Mile Kids Run (for children 16 and under)
The 5K event is chip-timed, and a video of the finish line is recorded and published online. Individual results, including pace and time, are provided shortly after participants cross the finish line. Families have the option to form teams during registration, with a special award presented to the family that enters the most members.
Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K, as well as the top two male and female runners in ten-year age categories. Recognition is also provided for the top male and female finishers in the 1 Mile run and the 1 Mile Kids Race. Children participating in the kids' event receive finisher awards upon completion.
Participants who register by July 24th are guaranteed an event winter beanie. Packet pickup is located at Adrian Hall on the morning of the event. While registration is available on the day of the race, it must be completed online via a mobile device. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
