Event Overview
The Oakland Turkey Trot celebrates its 10th anniversary as a community event focused on health and philantropy. The race is organized by a 501c3 organization and serves to benefit local partners including the Alameda County Community Food Bank and the Oakland Education Fund. Additional support is provided to grant recipients such as Running for a Better Oakland.
The event takes place at Lake Merritt's Eastshore Park and features a festive atmosphere with custom art installations by local artists, unique photo backdrops, and decorated mile markers. All participants receive exclusive custom shirts as part of their registration.
Race Options
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- 5K (Individual and VIP options available)
- 100 Yards (Kids Race for ages 2-7)
Participant Experience
Adult and youth runners who complete their respective courses receive finisher medals. Those registered for the VIP option gain access to a dedicated village area and receive a specific gift. The children's race follows a route from the start truss on Lakeshore to the main finish line on Grand Avenue.
