Oak Mountain Color Run 2026
The Oak Mountain Color Run is a charitable sports event held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama. Organized by the Oak Mountain High School SGA, the event takes place on trails within Alabama's largest state park. The run is held in memory of Donald R. Ellison and Susan A. Powers, with all proceeds donated to cancer research at the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.
Participants can choose from the following distances and categories:
- 5K run (Individual or Team)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (Individual or Team)
- Virtual Run option
The event features stations where a non-toxic, washable colored powder is thrown at participants. Runners are encouraged to wear white shirts, athletic shorts, and running shoes to best display the colors. Participants who pre-register have the option to purchase an official event t-shirt, while a limited quantity of shirts is available for purchase on the day of the race.
The park is accessible through two entrances, with directional signs leading to the registration area. Visitors should note that Oak Mountain State Park requires an entrance fee for adults, children, and seniors, while children aged three and under enter for free. Online registration remains open until two days before the event, and walk-up registration is available on-site on the morning of the run.
