NYRR Al Gordon 5K
The NYRR Al Gordon 5K is a scored 5K race held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on February 27, 2027. The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles) and the event is open to participants ages 8 and up. The race serves as a 9+1 program qualifier for 9+1 Passholders.
Numbers include a timing tag and may be picked up at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street. Live, unofficial runner tracking will be available through the NYRR App, and official results will be posted on results.nyrr.org after the event.
Awards are presented on site to the top three overall finishers in the men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Age-group top three finishers can claim awards after the race via the organizer’s age-group award claim process.
Prize money is equal across men, women, and nonbinary divisions. Individual finish prizes for the overall race are $500 for 1st, $400 for 2nd, $300 for 3rd, $200 for 4th, and $100 for 5th. NYRR Member Division 40+ prizes are $150, $100, and $50 for the top three. To be eligible for prize money, a runner must have a paid NYRR membership at least three months prior to race day (November 27, 2026) and must complete the course in 21 minutes or less. A $100 time bonus is available for a winner who breaks the event record based on gun time. Event record times listed for 2026 are: men 14:57, women 16:45, nonbinary 18:31.
