NYCRUNS Haunted Island 10K : Governors Island, October 24, 2026
The event is a Halloween-themed road race in its 15th year, held on Governors Island. The main distance is 10 km, run as two loops around the island on a USATF-certified course. Entry includes ferry access for the runner and guests, race entry, an official tech shirt, and post-race food including fruit, bagels, and Halloween candy.
A Festival Area near the ferry terminal serves as bib and shirt pickup, bag check, restroom access, and the post-race gathering area. Race photos include one complimentary image with options to purchase additional photos. The organizer operates a pace-based start corral system labeled AA through F; corral assignment is printed on the bib and is based on the pace entered in the runner dashboard.
Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24) and items may be searched. Portable bathrooms will be available. Water and electrolyte fluids are provided on course and at the finish. Bibs are available for pickup on race morning in the Festival Area; members may opt to have bibs mailed if they register at least 20 days before the event and provide a U.S. mailing address. Shirts are not mailed.
Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net/chip time. The event follows a standard no-refunds, no-transfers policy; members may withdraw for race credit. Strollers and dogs are not permitted, earbuds may lead to disqualification if they hinder awareness, and celebratory confetti cannons are prohibited.
