NYCRUNS Haunted Island 10K

The NYCRUNS Haunted Island 10K takes place on October 24, 2026 on Governors Island, Colonels Row, New York. The event is in its 15th year. Entry includes race entry, a ferry ride for runners and guests, an official race tech shirt, and post race refreshments including Halloween candy.

The course is two loops of Governors Island and is USATF certified. The Festival Area, a short walk from the ferry terminal, serves as the location for bib and shirt pickup, bag check, portable bathrooms, and post race hydration and snacks. The Start and Finish are located steps from the Festival Area.

Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter, AA through F, with assignments noted on the bib. Bib pickup is available in the Festival Area on race morning and requires a unique QR code. NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed if registered at least 20 days before the event to a U.S. address; shirts are not mailed.

Amenities and policies include a single clear bag rule for bag check (NYCRUNS may provide a clear bag 18 x 24), photographers on course and at the finish with a race photo gallery emailed after the event, and a free photo download option. Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non binary overall finishers by gun time, and to the top three in each listed age group by net time. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised due to the number of turns. Standard no refund no transfer policies apply; members can withdraw for race credit. Strollers and dogs are not allowed. Time limits apply and marshals may direct participants off course for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
