NYCRUNS Haunted Island 10K
The event is a Halloween-themed road race held on Governors Island in New York, scheduled for October 24, 2026. The distance is 10K, run as two loops around the island on a USATF-certified course. Entry includes a ferry ride for the runner and guests, an official race shirt, and post-race food that includes Halloween candy.
A Festival Area near the ferry terminal serves as bib and shirt pickup, bag check, and the main pre- and post-race gathering space. Bag check requires one single clear bag (18 x 24); no additional full bags may be placed inside. Portable bathrooms will be available. Water and electrolyte fluids are provided on course and at the finish. Participant shirts are available for race-day pickup only and sizes are not guaranteed.
Start corrals are pace-based and assigned by letter (AA-F); corral assignment appears on the bib and is based on the pace listed in the runner dashboard. Bibs are available for pickup on race morning with a unique QR code; members may opt to have a bib mailed at no cost, or non-members can pay for mailing if they register 20 or more days before the event and provide a U.S. mailing address. Race photos are delivered after the event.
Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, with age-group awards by net/chip time. Time limits apply. Strollers and dogs are not allowed; handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised because of course turns. Standard no-refunds, no-transfers policy applies.
