NYCRUNS Haunted Island 10K
The event is a Halloween-themed 10K held on Governors Island on October 24, 2026. The course consists of two loops around the island and is USATF-certified. Entry includes a ferry ride for the runner and guests, an official race shirt, and post-race refreshments including Halloween candy.
The Festival Area, a short walk from the ferry terminal, houses bib and shirt pickup, bag check, portable bathrooms, and post-race food and fluids. Bibs are available only on race morning and require a unique QR code for pickup; NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed if they register at least 20 days before the event and supply a U.S. mailing address. Non-members may add mailed bib service for an additional fee. Shirts are not mailed.
On-course and finish support include water and electrolyte fluids. Bag check requires a single clear bag; if a nonclear bag is used, a clear bag (18 x 24 inches) will be provided and all items must fit inside. One complimentary race photo is provided with options to purchase additional images.
Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, with age group awards by net/chip time in these groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised not to register because of the high number of turns on the course.
