NYCRUNS Falling Leaves Half Marathon
The event is a USATF certified half marathon held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The course consists of just under four full loops of the park followed by a final sprint up Center Drive; runners pass Center Drive three times before a final left turn to the finish. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and serves as the location for bib and shirt pickup, bag check, and general race services.
Race amenities include a bag check (one single clear bag only, provided if needed, 18 x 24 inches), portable bathrooms in corrals and along the course, on-course hydration with water and Gatorade, and post-race refreshments including bottled water, Gatorade, an apple, and a bagel with schmear. Participant shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. All finishers receive a medal. Race photography includes a free event photo and optional discounted packages.
Bib distribution is managed from the Festival Area on race day; runners must present a unique QR code for pickup. NYCRUNS members may have a bib mailed at no additional cost if they register at least 20 days before the event and provide a U.S. mailing address; shirts are not mailed. Mass transit is recommended; the closest subway stations are the B/Q at Prospect Park and the F/G at 15th St-Prospect Park. Parking is limited; a recommended drop off point is 101 Prospect Park Southwest.
The race is partnered with Understood for Learning Disabilities Awareness Month. A Local Elite program offers qualifying members complimentary entries based on specified time standards and participation history. Results and awards are provided for overall and age group placements, and NYCRUNS provides an events app with real-time runner tracking.
