NYCRUNS Falling Leaves Half Marathon
The event is a USATF certified half marathon held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, during October. The course consists of just under four full loops of the park with a final run up Center Drive; runners pass Center Drive three times before the final left turn to the finish. Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter from AA to F; assignments come from the pace entered in the NYCRUNS dashboard. The Start Corrals are located on Well House Drive.
The Festival Area is in the Nethermead and is the site for bib pickup on race day, gear check, shirt distribution, and post-race services. Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches); additional full bags inside the clear bag are not permitted. Portable bathrooms will be available. Water and electrolyte fluids are provided on course and at the finish. Post-race refreshments include bagels with schmear and fresh fruit. Race shirts are available for pickup on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Finishers receive a medal at the finish line. Race photos are delivered by email after the event with one free photo download and paid packages available.
Bibs may be mailed to NYCRUNS members or purchased for mailing for non-members if registered 20 days or more before the event and shipped to a U.S. address. Mass transit is recommended; nearby subway and bus stops serve Prospect Park. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to enter due to the number of turns on the course. Standard no-refunds, no-transfers policies apply; strollers and dogs are prohibited and time limits are enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
