NYCRUNS Falling Leaves Half Marathon - Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The NYCRUNS Falling Leaves event is a Half Marathon held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on October 17, 2026. The course is USATF certified and consists of just under four full loops of the park with a final sprint up Center Drive; runners pass Center Drive three times before the final left turn to the finish.
The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and can be accessed via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. The Festival Area serves as bib pickup, bag check, shirt distribution, and the race finish location.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA through F); corrals are located on Well House Drive and assignments appear on the race bib. Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches) with all items fitting inside; organizers reserve the right to search bag contents. Portable bathrooms, hydration stations with water and electrolytes, and post race refreshments including bagels and fresh fruit are provided. Race swag includes a tech shirt available on race day only and a finisher's medal after crossing the line. MarathonFoto supplies one complimentary photo and additional photos are available for purchase.
Bibs are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race day with a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs at no additional cost and non-members may add mailed bibs for $25. Bib mailing requires registration at least 20 days before the event and a U.S. mailing address.
Mass transit is recommended; nearest subway service includes the S and Q at Prospect Park, the Q at Parkside Avenue, and the F and G at 15th Street–Prospect Park. Closest buses are the B68 and B16. Citi Bike stations are nearby. Parking around the park is limited; 101 Prospect Park Southwest is noted as a drop off point. Bike parking in the Festival Area and locking bikes to NYCRUNS signage are prohibited.
Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register for this course due to the high number of turns; alternative NYCRUNS races are suggested.
Members receive a 10 percent discount and other member benefits. Published entry prices range from about $81 to $112.50 for members and $90 to $125 for non-members depending on registration timing.
Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, and age group awards (net/chip time) are given to the top three in categories from 19 and under, five-year bands 20–24 through 75–79, and 80 and over.
The event is part of the NYCRUNS Local Elite Athlete Race Entry Program; qualifying standards and membership, competition history, and identification requirements apply. The organizer partners with a training app that offers a two-week trial.
Standard policies include no refunds and no transfers, stroller and dog prohibitions, enforcement of time limits and course marshal instructions, rules on earbuds and confetti cannons, and other competition rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
