The Awesome 80's Half Marathon & 5K NSRF
The event offers two distances held at Prospect Park in Brooklyn with staging at the Grecian Center, also called the Peristyle. The 5K uses a USATF certified loop at Prospect Park; the half marathon consists of four loops of that course. Finish and bib pickup are located at the Grecian Shelter Peristyle.
Distances:
- Half Marathon four loops of the Prospect Park course
- 5K one loop on a USATF certified course
Course notes include a cutoff time for the half marathon of 2:45 hours and a requirement to begin the final lap by 2:05 hours. For accurate split times non-5K participants must cross the finish mats on each lap. The 5K start is described as south of Duck Island adjacent to St. Paul’s Place, roughly 365 meters northeast of the finish line.
Amenities listed include a cassette tee and finisher medal, an informal bag check area, restrooms within a few minutes walk of start and finish, hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. A virtual participation option allows runners to log a time within a full week and upload up to five photos; event items begin shipping on the event start day. A portion of proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation. Results and same-day finish line photos are available online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
