NSRF The Awesome 80's Half Marathon & 5K
The event offers two distances and takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The venue meeting point and finish area is the Grecian Shelter, known as the Peristyle. The 5K course is a USATF certified loop at Prospect Park.
Distances:
- Half Marathon 4 loops of the certified 5K circuit
- 5K 1 loop of the certified course
The half marathon uses four laps of the 5K loop. A race cutoff time for the half marathon is 2:45 hours and participants must be starting their final lap by 2:05 hours. Runners who complete multiple laps must run through the finish line mats each loop for accurate split times and synced photos. Finish and bib pickup are located at the Grecian Shelter.
Amenities include a cassette tee and finisher medal, informal bag check, restroom access a few minutes walk from start and finish, hydration at the finish, and on-site refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. A virtual participation option lets entrants log a time and upload up to five photos within the event week; mailed bibs are available for an extra fee if requested in advance.
A portion of event proceeds benefits the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that supports athletic and charitable programs. Live online results and same-day finish line photos are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
