Polar Bear Half Marathon & 5K NSRF
This event takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, and offers two distances on a USATF certified circuit with the same start and finish locations near Duck Island and the Grecian Shelter Peristyle. Participants in the half marathon complete four loops of the circuit; the 5K is a single loop.
Race amenities include an informal bag check area, portable toilets near the finish, and hydration and post-race refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Finishers receive a Polar Bear shirt and a Polar Bear medal. Live online results, same-day finish line photos, and video are provided.
The half marathon includes live on-course splits and split photos for timing and tracking. Course support for the half marathon ends after 2 hours and 45 minutes; runners must begin their final loop before the published cutoff. Age-group recognition is awarded online for top finishers across standard decade age groups and overall categories.
A virtual participation option is available; virtual entrants have the event start day plus one week to log a time and may upload up to five photos. Bib mailing is available for an additional fee if registered at least ten days in advance. Proceeds benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
