It's Our Only Earth Day 5K
This event is a community 5K held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY, routed along tree-lined bike paths in the Merrick Lands area. The course is USATF certified for the 5K distance. A free kiddie dash is offered as part of the event.
On-site amenities include an informal bag check area, bathrooms within a few minutes' walk from the start and finish, hydration provided at the finish line, and post-race refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. An event T-shirt is available for participants.
A virtual option allows participants to log a time and upload up to five photos during a one-week period beginning with the first day of the event; event items begin shipping on the first day. Bib distribution is available in person (starting one hour before the event) or by mail for a fee of $10 if registered at least 10 days in advance. Organizers advise proper bib placement for accurate read-rates.
Age-group recognition is awarded online for top finishers by gender/identifier overall and by age categories, including 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90 plus. Donations associated with the event benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports special needs and youth running programs and athlete development.
