About the race
It's Our Only Earth Day 5K is a community running event held in April that highlights awareness for environmental stewardship. The event uses a USATF certified 5K course through the Merrick Lands and Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. Distances offered include:

- Free Kiddie Dash
Amenities listed for participants include an informal bag check area, bathrooms a few minutes walk from the start and finish, hydration at the finish line, and postrace refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Event apparel is available as an event T shirt.
Logistics include in person bib pickup starting one hour before the race and an option to have a bib mailed for a $10 fee if registered at least 10 days before the event. Virtual participation is available; virtual entrants have from the first day of the event plus one week to log a time and may upload up to five photos. Race results are delivered live online, by email, and by text, with free video and same day finish line photographs.
Age group recognition is listed for overall top finishers and for standard age brackets from 14 and under through 90 plus. Registration is not yet open. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that supports Special Needs and youth running events and athlete development.
