NSRF It's Our Only Earth Day 5K
The NSRF It's Our Only Earth Day 5K is an athletic event held at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York. The event is designed to promote awareness for environmental preservation. Participants run or walk through a course featuring tree-lined bike paths within the park grounds.
The event offers the following participation options:
- 5K (In-person run or walk)
- Virtual 5K (Completed remotely between April 18 and April 26)
- Kiddie Dash (Free participation for children)
The in-person 5K uses a USATF certified course. Participants receive a themed t-shirt as part of their registration, and those who register at least three weeks in advance have their names printed on their bibs. Amenities provided at the venue include an informal bag check area, bathrooms located near the start and finish lines, and hydration at the finish line. Refreshments such as sparkling water and bakery products are available after the event.
For the in-person race, bib pickup begins one hour before the start. A bib mailing service is also available for those who register at least 10 days in advance. The virtual option allows participants to log their times and upload photos online. All donations from the event benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports youth and special needs athletic programs.
