Sri Chinmoy Thanksgiving Day 5K & 10K
The event on 26 November 2026 is held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. It features a scenic, mostly flat and fast USATF certified course that loops around Meadow Lake and passes landmarks such as the Unisphere, the Fountain of the Planets, the Queens Zoo, the New York State Pavilion and the Queens Museum of Art.
The course is certified (USATF NY16032JG and NY16033JG). The 5 km is one loop around the course and the 10 km is two loops.
Distances:
- 5 km one loop around Meadow Lake and park landmarks
- 10 km two loops on the certified 5 km course
- Kids Race approx 400 meters for children under 13
On-site amenities include free parking in the Meadow Lake Boat Rental lot with about a 7 minute walk to Race-Day Central, bag check, aid stations approximately every mile, custom finisher medals, and free finisher photos. The giveaway is a pair of micro fleece running gloves. A packet shipping option is available to US addresses for an additional fee.
Race administration uses chip timing and results are ranked by chip time. Strollers and other wheeled locomotion are not allowed in the race. Age rules: entrants must be at least 13 years old for the 5 km and 15 years old for the 10 km. If the in-person event must be canceled for safety or public health reasons, the race may be converted to a virtual event with giveaways and finisher medals mailed to registrants.
