Great Easter Basket 5K & 10K NSRF
The event is a community road race held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park with the following distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
The 5K is a USATF certified course that visits the Unisphere twice and runs around the Fountain of the Planets, with start and finish near the Queens Theater. The 10K consists of two loops of the same course; 10K participants must cross the finish line at the end of each loop for accurate split times and photos.
Onsite amenities include an informal bag check area, portable restrooms near the finish line, nearby park bathrooms within a short walk, finish-line hydration, and event refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. Participants receive a finisher medal and there is event apparel including a bunny tee. A free kiddie run is offered as part of the event program.
Pacing support is provided: 5K pacers range approximately 20 to 30 minutes, and 10K pacers range approximately 40 minutes to 1:05. A virtual participation option allows entrants to log a time and up to five photos during the week that follows the event; shipped items begin sending on the event start day. Bibs can be mailed for a fee if registered at least 10 days in advance, or picked up in person beginning one hour before the event start time.
One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports athletic events and athlete development. Age-group recognition is provided online; finisher medals are issued and top finishers are listed by gender and age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
