Great Easter Basket 5K & 10K NSRF
This annual spring running event takes place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park and offers both a 5 km and a 10 km route. The 5 km course is USATF certified and the route visits landmarks such as the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets, with start and finish near the Queens Theater.
Distances:
- 5 km, USATF certified, one loop
- 10 km, two loops, must pass finish line each loop
Amenities include a participant tee and a finisher medal, on-course hydration at the finish, and refreshments provided by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. There is an informal bag check area and bathroom facilities within a few minutes' walk of the start and finish; additional porto‑johns and an NYC Parks building bathroom are located near the course.
A free kiddie run is offered. Course support includes pacers for both distances (5K pacers from roughly 20 to 30 minutes; 10K pacers from roughly 40 minutes to 1:05). A virtual option allows participants to log time and up to five photos within one week; event items begin shipping the first day of the event.
Bibs can be mailed for a fee if requested in advance or picked up in person near the Queens Theater shortly before the event. Event donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
