Great Easter Basket 5K & 10K NSRF
This spring running event takes place at Flushing Meadows Corona Park and offers road race courses that pass the Unisphere and the Fountain of the Planets. The start and finish are located near the Queens Theater. The 5K course is USATF certified.
Distances
- 5K USATF certified one loop visiting the Unisphere and Fountain of the Planets
- 10K two loops; runners must cross the finish line each loop for accurate results
Amenities include a bunny tee and a finisher medal, hydration provided at the finish, and refreshments supplied by All Round Foods and Waterloo Sparkling Water. There is an informal bag check area and bathroom facilities a few minutes' walk from the start and finish; additional porto-johns and a Parks building bathroom are located on the course.
Pacer groups are provided: 5K pacers range from 20 to 30 minutes, and 10K pacers range from 40 minutes to 1 hour 5 minutes. A virtual option is available allowing participants one week to log time and submit up to five photos; race items begin shipping on the first day of the event and virtual bibs are mailed.
Parking is noted at the Queens Museum building on Meridian Road with a walk to the Queens Theater. Results are delivered live online, by email, and by text, with same-day finish line photos and video. One hundred percent of donations benefit the Never Stop Running Foundation, a 501(c)(3).
