About the race
Abominable 5K & 10K is a running event held at Flushing Meadows Corona Park as part of the NYC Parks Winter Series (stop 3). The course begins and ends on the north side of Queens Theater and passes the Unisphere twice and the Fountain of the Planets.

- 10K (two loops of the 5K course)
The 5K course is USATF certified. Participants in the 10K must cross the finish mats on each loop for accurate split times and synced photos. Bathrooms are a few minutes' walk from the start and finish; additional porto-johns are located near the finish line and the NYC Parks building just after mile 2. Informal bag check is available in the staging area. Hydration is provided at the finish.
The event offers an in-person race and a virtual option. Virtual participants have from the event start date through a full week to log a time and may upload up to five photos. Race items and bibs can be mailed; mailed bibs require registration at least 10 days in advance for in-person mailing, and virtual bibs ship when race gear becomes available (allow several days for delivery).
Results are posted live online with same-day finish line photos and video. Online age-group recognition lists top finishers overall and by standard age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
