The Neuse Pamlico Sound Women’s Coalition (NPSWC) will hold the 10th annual March for Sickle Cell as a hybrid 5K run/walk on March 14, 2026. The event includes an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K; virtual participants must submit timing information by the end of the day on March 14, 2026. The organizer is a 501(c)(3) group and plans to use proceeds to assist local patients with treatment, transportation, and related expenses for sickle cell disease.

The in-person event is located at Union Point Park, 210 E Front Street, New Bern, NC 28560. Early packet pickup is scheduled for March 13, 2026, at Coastal Sole, 4149 Dr. ML King, Jr. Blvd., New Bern, NC from 3:00 to 6:30 PM. The event will be timed by a professional timing company, Run The East, LLC. RaceJoy will be available for GPS progress alerts, live tracking, and virtual result submission for participants who carry a phone and enable tracking.
Fees and awards
Early registration pricing and discounts are noted: an early bird fee of $30 (available until January 24, 2026), regular registration at $35 after that date, and a child rate of $15 for ages 10 and under. A military discount reduces the early bird fee to $25 with a discount code. Medals will be awarded to male and female 1st and 2nd place finishers in multiple age groups.
