Event Overview
The Neuse River Bridge Run is a multi-distance event held in New Bern, North Carolina. For over 20 years, the event has supported various local non-profit organizations, including the Craven Community College Foundation and the Twin River YMCA. The races follow routes through downtown New Bern and historic neighborhoods.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- SuperKids Fun Run
In-person courses utilize local bridges, with the Half Marathon and 10K routes crossing the Neuse River Bridge. All three timed courses (5K, 10K, and Half Marathon) cross the George Cunningham Bridge over the Trent River. The races conclude on East Front Street near the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County.
Participation Details
The event provides chip-enabled bibs for the timed in-person races. Participants in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K receive a t-shirt featuring a local artist's design. Runners finishing the Half Marathon are also awarded a finisher medal. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the overall categories and across 13 distinct age groups.
In addition to the in-person races, virtual versions of all four distances are available. Virtual participants can track their results using the RaceJoy mobile application. A post-race celebration featuring refreshments and an awards ceremony takes place at the Riverfront Convention Center following the Saturday events.
