Craven Smart Start Holiday Hustle
The Craven Smart Start Holiday Hustle is an event in New Bern, North Carolina, held at Union Point Park (210 E. Front Street) on Saturday, December 13, 2025. The event is organized by Craven Smart Start to raise funds for early learning and family support services for children birth to five in Craven County. The in-person races run through downtown New Bern and start and end in Union Point Park; the Family Fun Run is a course around Union Point Park. All races are offered as virtual options.

Registration fees vary by event and date: Jingle Bell Jog 5K $25 until Nov. 28 / $30 thereafter; Tinsel 10K $30 until Nov. 28 / $35 thereafter; Santa’s Fun Run $15 ($20 on race day); Virtual 5K & 10K $20; Virtual 48.6 mile Challenge $40. A $5 per person family discount applies for in-person races with three or more participants. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Register by Nov. 28 to guarantee a T-shirt; entries after Nov. 28 may not receive a shirt due to supply issues.
Packet pick up is Friday, December 12 from 4-7 PM at Craven Smart Start, 211-F Neuse Blvd, or at Union Point Park beginning the morning of the race. In-person awards are given 1st-3rd, male and female, in age groups 8-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-64, and 65+. In-person registrants receive a long sleeve performance t-shirt; virtual 48.6 finishers receive a shirt and medal; virtual 5K/10K finishers receive a medal.
