Event details
The Northern Trails Trail Race takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The race starts and finishes at Northern Guilford High School, 7101 Spencer Dixon Rd., Greensboro, NC 27455. The event offers the following distances:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
- 17 Mile
The course follows trails in Greensboro's northern trail system, with sections along Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend. The event includes options for running, rucking, or hiking and also offers economy and virtual registration choices. The race is the second event in the North Carolina Trail Mega Medal Series; finisher medals connect with medals from other races in the series. Past editions have experienced a range of weather conditions.
Registration and race services
Regular, economy, and virtual registrations are available. Registration benefits listed by the organizer include a custom race shirt, a finisher medal, chip timing with live results, race photos, aid stations on course, post-race food and beverages, and live participant tracking through the RaceJoy app. Virtual entries appear on a virtual leaderboard and can receive a packet locally or by mail for an additional shipping fee.
The refund and transfer policy: no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier than 30 days a request may be made for a 50% refund of the entry fee excluding processing fees. Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee. Entries cannot be deferred to another event or year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
