Belews Lake Sprint Triathlon

The Belews Lake Sprint is a multisport event held at the Carolina Marina in Stokesdale, North Carolina. This early-season competition provides several racing formats, including triathlon, duathlon, and aquabike options. The event features a time trial start and is part of the Trivium Multisport Series.

Participants can choose from the following event distances:

  • Sprint Triathlon: 750 meter swim, 14.5 mile bike, and 5 kilometer run.
  • Sprint Duathlon: 2 mile run, 14.5 mile bike, and 5 kilometer run.
  • Sprint Aquabike: 750 meter swim and 14.5 mile bike.

The bike course is characterized by a scenic route with rolling hills. In addition to the standard age group categories, there are specific divisions for collegiate athletes, Athena (minimum weight of 165 lbs), Clydesdale (minimum weight of 220 lbs), and Masters Clydesdale (minimum weight of 220 lbs, age 40+). Relay teams consisting of two to three members are permitted for both the triathlon and duathlon, where each person completes a different section of the race.

A virtual multisport option is also available for those who wish to complete the distance at a different location. All participants in the relay categories must hold a USAT annual or one-day membership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
