Northern Men's 6 Stage, Women's 4 Stage and Young Athletes Road Relay Championships 2026
The championships take place on 20 September 2026 at Silksworth Sports Complex, Sunderland SR3 1PD, and are held under UKA rules (Licence No 31829). The programme includes senior club relays and young athlete relays with defined age categories and distances.
Event distances and categories:
- Men's six-stage relay, six stages of approximately 5 km each.
- Women's four-stage relay, four stages of approximately 5 km each.
- Young athletes three-stage relays with specific races:
- Under 14 boys: 2.5 miles
- Under 14 girls: 2.5 miles
- Under 16 boys: 2.5 miles
- Under 16 girls: 2.5 miles
- Under 18 men: 5 km
- Under 18 women: 5 km
Entry and eligibility notes: entries close 13 September 2026. Only Northern Athletics clubs affiliated to England Athletics may enter; team members must be first-claim club members and show current England Athletics registration numbers. Clubs may submit named pools for selection: up to 9 names per young athletes team, 18 names per men's team, and 12 names per women's team. Team declarations and changes are accepted online up to the day of the race via the personalised link for team managers; no facility for declarations will be available at registration. Late or incorrectly submitted entries will be rejected.
Prizes and other rules: medals are awarded to the first three A teams and to the fastest leg; bronze medals are awarded to the first B team. The men's race is a qualifying event for the ERRA six-stage championships, with eligibility limits for ERRA entry as specified by the organiser. Club colours and identical vests or crop tops are required for senior events. Entry fees are stated as £66 per men's team, £44 per women's team, and £33 per young athletes team.
