North Start

North Start takes place on March 13, 2027, with the Minnesota State Fairgrounds serving as the event hub and courses that pass through Como Park and around Lake Como. The event presents routes for children and adults and frames running as a way to start toward what comes next.

Distances include:

• Kids: 100-yard dash to 1-mile
• 5K: Minnesota State Fairgrounds through Como Park
• 10K: Minnesota State Fairgrounds, Como Park, around Lake Como

The Equity in Motion program offers a limited number of participants 50% off the entry fee. Registration opens October 2, 2026; registration fees increase as the event date approaches. Refunds are available within 48 hours of registration and are permitted until five days before the event; online transaction fees are non-refundable. There is no deferral program. Race entries may be transferred to another person or switched to a different distance before March 12, 2027, subject to availability and transfer fees.

One participant may pick up another participant’s packet with the required authorization information. Strollers are permitted in 5K or shorter distances with prior indication, a waiver, and a stroller bib. Pets are asked to remain off course and cheer from the sidelines. Event time-limit pacing requirements apply: 5K participants must maintain a 30 minute per mile pace and 10K participants must maintain a 20 minute per mile pace.
