Scare in White Bear
Scare in White Bear is a Halloween-themed nighttime fun run held at Memorial Beach on White Bear Lake in Minnesota. The event follows a torch-lit paved lakeside path and includes a 5K race and a separate kids fun run along the shore. Participants receive glow necklaces and bracelets to use during the event, and a professional photographer and a holiday-themed photo booth are on site.
The race environment includes Halloween decorations, a spooky photo booth, and beach-based trick-or-treating for children before the run. A kids Halloween party and a post-race awards ceremony take place at Memorial Beach. Packet pick-up occurs at Memorial Beach before the event and includes race bibs, timing chips, glow items, and shirts for those who selected that option.
The event is open to walkers, stroller users, and leashed dogs, and costumes are encouraged. Age-group awards are given in ten-year brackets from 19 and under through 70+ when there is sufficient participation, and top overall male and female finishers receive Halloween-themed awards. A water stop is located on the 5K course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
