About the race
North Shore RunFest is a road running event in downtown Salem, Massachusetts, held on August 30, 2026 at 283R Derby Street. The event offers race distances of 5k and 8k and supports the nonprofit Girls On The Run.
The event includes a postrace fest with beer from Notch Brewing and live music. Each bib includes a ticket for the first beer; additional beers are available for purchase and nonalcoholic options are offered. A fest only ticket is available for people who want to attend the celebration without running.
Race competition features prize money for elite finishers and additional awards. Top prizes for men and women are $1,000 for first, $500 for second, and $300 for third. Separate prizes include $250 for first master (40+), $100 for first Salem resident, and $100 for the first Notch Brewing runner. The first, second, and third prizes apply to the Elite category only; masters, Salem resident, and Notch runner prizes apply to the Open category. The Open category uses a time trial format and open prize money is awarded by fastest net times.
