North Knox Sprint Triathlon
The North Knox Sprint Triathlon takes place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Tennova Family YMCA, 7540 Dannaher Drive, Knoxville, TN 37849. It is the opening event in the Grand Shizzle Pool Sprint Series. Event entries listed include Sprint Individual, Sprint Athena (female 165+ lbs), Sprint Clydesdale (male 220+ lbs), Sprint Mixed Relay, and Sprint Aquabike (swim and bike only). Registration for the listed events opens November 27, 2025.
Format, logistics and awards
The race uses the YMCA indoor pool for the swim, a bike course that includes some small elevation changes, and a run along the North Halls area. Distances:
- Swim 150 yards
- Bike 9.5 miles
- Run 5K
Packet pickup is at the race site from 6:00 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. Transition opens at 6:00 a.m. Race day registration is available on-site and via mobile devices. The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon; USAT rules apply and an annual or one-day USAT license is required. Awards include overall and masters places, age-group awards (12-15 through 70 and over), top Clydesdale and Athena, top relays, and top aquabike finishers. Personal Best Racing LLC has a no-refund policy, although transfers to another division are allowed. Event shirts are not guaranteed for registrations within two weeks of the event.
