Event details
The North Chilterns 50K is a 50km trail ultra held from Putteridge Bury Country House. The next edition is scheduled for 21 November 2026 and will be the fifth running of the event. The course has about 798m+ of elevation and a maximum field of 250 runners. Entry is priced at £75 (£73 for UKA affiliated runners) and the minimum age is 20. The race carries a TRA licence (No. 7745) and is a UTMB World Series Index Race.
Course and logistics
The route follows local trails and sections of the Chiltern Way, passing Lilley, Warden Hill, Barton Hills, the Pegsdon Hills and Offley. The final 12km contains three small hills. The course is fully marked with orange arrows and ribbons and marshals will be positioned at several key points. Aid stations are at Arnold Rec, Barton (14.3km); The View (28km); and Offley Village Hall (37.2km). Stations supply water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration products (pre-mixed electrolyte drink, gels, chews), crisps, sweets and fresh fruit. Runners must carry a digital copy of the route on a watch or phone and required kit includes a mobile phone, route map on watch/phone, windproof or waterproof jacket, refillable water system (0.5L min) and cash or card; a warm hat and foil blanket are recommended. The event base offers indoor registration, toilets and hot drinks, with the start and finish located at the rear of the property with direct trail access. Time limit: 8h45.
