Event Overview

The NM Sweetheart Run is a running event on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The race is held at Bosque School, located at 4000 Bosque School Rd. NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is described as the 21st annual edition.

Distances

The event offers several race distances:

Course & Location

The 5K and 10K courses are loop courses that run primarily on Bosque ditch banks and trails through the North Valley Bosque. Both races start and finish at Bosque School. Water stations are available on course, with water and Powerade provided for the 10K distance. Dogs, strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, bikes, and motorized devices are not allowed on the course.

Participant Perks & Awards

All participants receive a finisher medal and an event t-shirt. Awards are given in multiple categories:

  • Overall awards for the top 3 men and women in the 5K and 10K.
  • Age group awards for both the 5K and 10K.
  • Team awards for the top 3 teams in the 5K Team of 2 and 10K Team of 2 categories.
  • A recognition award for all Kids K participants. Awards ceremonies begin immediately after the Kids K.

Registration & Logistics

Packet pickup and late registration is available on February 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Heart and Sole Sports (2817 San Mateo Blvd. NE, Albuquerque). Race-day registration is also available near the Bosque School Track and Field area. Participants must wear their assigned bib visibly on the front to be officially timed and eligible for awards. The event uses a gun start with a chip finish.

Safety & Rules

Medical staff will be stationed along the course and at the finish line. The event has an inclement weather policy, and updates may be provided via the organizer's website, email, or on-site announcements.
