Event overview
The NM Farolito 5K is scheduled for December 13, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (9169 Coors Rd. NW). The event is presented as a holiday evening run and walk illuminated by 2,500 farolitos (luminarias). Registration includes a long-sleeve event T-shirt and a custom finisher medal. Post-race refreshments will include New Mexican holiday items such as posole and hot chocolate. The event uses a gun start with a clock finish and overall awards are presented to the top three males and females.

The event lists separate entry fees for adult and youth categories and a registration deadline for the virtual option. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at a local Fleet Feet store; out-of-town participants may pick up packets on race day at the venue. Race-day registration is available, but pre-registered participants must pick up their packets at packet pickup. Entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be deferred.
Safety and course rules include no dogs, limited wheeled devices (registered wheelchair competitors and authorized bicycle marshals only), and permitted strollers must start at the back, keep the child secure, and be well lit.
