Event overview
The Kendal Castle Sprint Tri is a sprint-distance triathlon held at Kendal Leisure Centre with a route that passes Kendal Castle. The event date is 26 April 2026. The organiser is T2 Events. Entries open 3 November 2025. Entries will close either when the event fills or at 12 noon on the Tuesday prior to the event, whichever occurs first. There are 250 places available. Entry fees listed are Solo £50 and Relay £65.
Course and race details
Distances:
- 400m pool swim
- 18.7km bike excluding 1.4km neutral zone
- 5km off-road run
The bike leg is an out-and-back route with a timed neutral zone. The run uses a short section of the old canal route, woodland trails and grassy slopes up to the castle ruins, then returns to the leisure centre. Chip timing is included. Free parking, a medal and free professional photographs are provided.
Entry requirements and equipment
Minimum age is 15 in the event year; anyone under 16 must provide written parental consent at registration on the day. Participants must use a roadworthy bike - mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable - and wear a recognised cycle helmet. Participants should be medically fit to race.
