Kendal Castle Sprint Tri : 26 April 2026
The Kendal Castle Sprint Tri is a sprint distance triathlon held at Kendal Leisure Centre, Burton Road, LA9 7HX. The event is presented as the Kendal "Castle" triathlon and the run finishes near the Castle ruins.
Race format and course
The race follows the standard swim-bike-run sequence:
- 400m pool swim
- 18.7km bike (distance excludes a 1,400m timed neutral zone)
- 5km off-road run
The swim takes place in a pool. The bike is an out-and-back route that includes a timed neutral zone. The run uses the old canal route for a short section, then woodland trails and grassy slopes up to the Castle ruins before returning to the leisure centre.
Entries, categories and requirements
Entries open 3 November 2025 and close 23 April 2026 or when the event fills. Places available: 250. Entry fees listed are Solo £50 and Relay £65. Course categories include Open and Women. Minimum age is 15 in the event year; competitors under 16 must provide written parental consent at registration on the day.
Included for participants are chip timing, free parking, a medal and free professional photographs. Required equipment includes a roadworthy bike (mountain bikes and hybrids acceptable) and a recognised cycle helmet. Participants must be medically sound and consult a GP if they have a history of illness or injury. The event offers an optional purchase of XCover for possible refunds.
