Kendal Castle Autumn Sprint Triathlon
The Kendal Castle Autumn Sprint Triathlon takes place on 27 September 2026 at Kendal Leisure Centre and follows a route that passes Kendal Castle. The event uses a pool for the swim, an out and back bike course with a timed neutral zone, and an off road run that climbs to the Castle ruins before returning to the leisure centre.
Distances:
- 400 m pool swim
- 18.7 km bike excluding 1,400 m neutral zone
- 5 km off road run using canal route, woodland trails and grassy slopes
Entries open on 2 May and the listed closing date is 23 September 2026, but entries may close earlier if the event fills. The field is limited to 150 places. Entry categories include solo and relay teams; solo entry fee is £50 and relay entry fee is £65. Waves are organised by estimated 400 m swim times with women starting first followed by an open category.
Participants must be at least 15 years old in the event year; anyone under 16 must provide written parental consent at registration. Competitors should be medically fit, bring a roadworthy bike and a recognised cycle helmet; mountain and hybrid bikes are acceptable.
