Event overview
Kendal Castle Sprint Tri takes place on Sunday 26 April 2026 at Kendal Leisure Centre, Burton Road, LA9 7HX. The event has a maximum of 250 places. Entries open on Monday 3 November 2025 and close when the event fills or by Thursday 23 April 2026. Entry fees listed are Solo £50 and Relay £65. Minimum age to enter is 15 in the event year; anyone under 16 must provide written parental consent at registration on the day. Included with entry are chip timing, free parking, a medal, and free professional photographs.
Course, format and requirements
The event is a sprint-distance triathlon renamed the Kendal "Castle" triathlon. The course includes a pool swim, an out-and-back bike route with a timed neutral zone, and an off-road run that passes woodland trails and the grassy slopes up to the Castle ruins before returning to the centre.
Distances:
- 400m pool swim
- 18.7km bike excluding 1400m neutral zone
- 5km off-road run
Participants must use a roadworthy bike; mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable. A recognised cycle helmet is required. Competitors should be medically sound and consult a GP if they have a history of illness or injury. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
