Overview
The Silva Dales Traverse is a 55-kilometer ultramarathon. It follows Wainwright's Coast to Coast route between Kirkby Stephen and Richmond in the Yorkshire Dales.
Route Details
The course starts at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School and finishes at Richmond Town Football Club. It passes through the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, over the Nine Standards, and into the Yorkshire Dales National Park through Swaledale. The route is an established national hiking trail. It is not marked, but official Coast to Coast signs are increasingly present. Participants navigate using a provided waterproof race map, digital mapping via the Avenza app, or a downloadable GPX file. The route is mandatory.
