Dales Traverse® 2027
The Dales Traverse is a long distance ultra run of approximately 55 km that follows Alfred Wainwright’s coast to coast route from Kirkby Stephen to Richmond. The route passes through the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, goes over the Nine Standards, and continues into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, weaving through Swaledale to a finish below Richmond Castle.
The event follows the same route as Northern Traverse and presents an ethos of adventure and self sufficiency. Participants are expected to be self reliant during the course, in line with the event culture.
Entries open 1 June 2026 and close 25 March 2027. The minimum age for entry is 18 on the event date. The published entry fee is £85. The organiser is World Ultra Events UK. The event page notes an option to purchase XCover insurance that may allow a refund in specified circumstances.
