Silva Dales Traverse
The Silva Dales Traverse is a 55km ultra running event held in northern England, following Alfred Wainwright’s famous coast-to-coast route from Kirkby Stephen to Richmond. The course traverses the scenic North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, crosses the iconic Nine Standards, and winds through the Yorkshire Dales National Park, finishing below Richmond Castle. With approximately 1,400 meters of elevation gain, the event emphasizes self-sufficiency and an adventurous spirit.
It serves as an accessible yet challenging ultra, ideal for runners aiming to progress to longer traverses like the Moors or Lakes Traverse. Support points, digital mapping, and safety measures are provided to assist participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
