Trail Running in the Yorkshire Dales

The Fremington Frenzy is an off-road running event located in North Yorkshire, starting and finishing at the Low Fremington Village Hall near Reeth. The course follows a 11 km route that takes participants through the landscape of Swaledale. The terrain is varied and includes a mix of grassy trods, hard-packed footpaths, and technical trail sections featuring loose rocks, specifically where the path traverses mining hushes.

Participants navigate a fully marked route that includes steep ascents at Fremington Edge and descents with views of the surrounding valley. The final section of the race follows Arkle Beck as it returns to the finish line in Reeth. The event is open to runners aged 16 and older, with registration requiring either a UKA membership or a standard entry fee.

The event provides several amenities for participants, including:

  • 11 km trail run
  • Fully stocked aid stations with vegan and gluten-free dietary options
  • GPX files and digital maps for navigation
  • On-site car parking
  • Post-race refreshments including hot or cold drinks and cakes

The course is designed with generous cut-off times to accommodate different paces. The route includes several twists and turns through less-visited areas of the local terrain, maintaining a focus on technical trail running within a rural setting.
