Event details
Fremington Frenzy is an 11 km run near Reeth in North Yorkshire. The event is based at Low Fremington Village Hall. Entry is restricted to people aged 16 and over, with a maximum of 100 entrants. Entry fees are listed as £18 for UKA members and £20 for non-members. GPX and a PDF map of the route are available for download.
Course and logistics
The route is hilly and mostly single track, with a very steep initial ascent and several technical descents, including sections that pass through mining hushes. Surfaces include grassy trods, hard-packed footpaths and areas with loose rocks. The return follows Arkle Beck through The Heggs - Castle Renaturing Project into Reeth.
Course markings use orange barrier tape, pin flags and coloured arrow signs; critical turns and road crossings will be manned by marshals. Participants are required to carry mandatory kit: taped-seam waterproof jacket and trousers, hat or buff, gloves, and an emergency blanket or bivvy bag. Kit checks may be carried out and missing mandatory items can lead to disqualification. Suggested items include a map, compass and whistle.
Parking is provided in a nearby field that may be muddy and is a working field. An aid station will supply water and some snacks; post-race hot and cold drinks and cakes are provided, with additional items available for purchase and proceeds kept by a local charity.
