Overview

DalesRunner 20 is a trail race in Reeth, North Yorkshire, based at Low Fremington Village Hall. The course is listed at roughly 18–20 km and is very hilly, mostly on single track. It includes a very steep first ascent, ridge running, and technical descents that pass through mining hushes with loose rocks. Surfaces include grassy trods and hard packed footpaths. The route is fully marked with orange tape and pin flags, and critical turns and road crossings will be manned by marshals.

Logistics and rules

Parking is provided in a nearby field outside Reeth; this is a working field and may be muddy. Registration is at the village hall and toilets will be available there; portable toilets will be in the start field. The event has mandatory kit and organisers may perform spot checks; required items include taped seam waterproof jacket and trousers, a hat or buff, gloves, an emergency blanket or bivvy bag, a cup or soft flask, and a fully charged mobile phone. Aid stations will offer water, Active Root nutrition, sweet and savoury food, and some electrolyte tablets; plastic cups are not used, so runners must carry their own drinking vessel. The event limit is 200 entrants. Entry fees are £24 for affiliated/UKA members and £26 for unaffiliated/non members; all prices include a £1 donation to the National Park.
