Nic's Race 5K, Kids 2K & Duathlon
Nic's Race takes place at Kincaid Park in Anchorage, Alaska, and combines kid-focused duathlon events, a family duathlon relay, a kids 2K fun run, and both timed and untimed 5K trail runs. A virtual 5K option allows participants to complete the distance remotely and submit a time online; two random virtual submissions will receive mailed prizes and a printable virtual bib is available through race settings.
Duathlon courses are all on pavement for the kids races; the family relay uses a children’s run loop and bike laps on the biathlon range. The two age-group duathlons list these formats:
- Ages 4–8: 0.35 mile run, 1.25 mile bike, 0.35 mile run
- Ages 9–12: 0.7 mile run, 2.5 mile bike, 0.7 mile run
Trail running events include the Nic's Race 5K (timed and untimed) and the Kid's 2K fun run, both held on Kincaid Park trails. The start/finish line is at the top of the Coastal Trail near the roundabout behind the chalet. The duathlon transition area is in the parking spots beside the multi-use trail near the top of the Coastal Trail.
Early bib pickup is scheduled for September 24 at the Trek Store of Anchorage and at Kincaid Park; race day bib pickup is also available. Event proceeds support the NicStrong Foundation, which funds assistance for Alaska children affected by cancer and supports youth sports and academics.
