The Izzy K
The Izzy K is an annual community event held in Warwick, Rhode Island. The event takes place at the Masonic Youth Grounds, located at 116 Long Street. This gathering serves as a benefit for The Izzy Foundation, a national nonprofit organization that supports families whose children are navigating cancer or other life-altering medical conditions.
Participants can choose from multiple event distances:
- 1k (The Izzy Kids 1k)
- 5k (The Izzy 5K Run/Walk)
The 5k course is open to both runners and walkers. The event environment includes music and refreshments for participants. Following the conclusion of the races, an awards ceremony is held to recognize participants.
The event is held rain or shine, and registration typically closes the day before the race. The proceeds from the event assist the foundation in funding creative projects and programs, such as academic scholarships, support groups, and the maintenance of Izzy Spaces for patients and their families.
